The Fetu o Siva Tausala/Manaia Project draws inspiration from the prestigious Samoan pageant industry. The Miss Fetu o Siva title honors the legacy of the Miss Samoa tradition—a cultural standard that has seen a modern resurgence following the influential reign of Moemoana Safa'atoa Schwenke and her iconic Asau siva. In contrast, the Mister Fetu o Siva title was born from a vision of inclusivity. Recognizing that many Pacific 'Mister' titles prioritize specific physical aesthetics, Director Malaki sought to create a platform that celebrates the heart of a Taule'ale'a Samoa. As a plus-sized Samoan man himself, Malaki established this title to prove that cultural pride and leadership are defined by character and service, not by physical build.
The Miss Fetu o Siva title is a premier cultural honor that pays homage to the prestigious Miss Samoa legacy. It serves as a platform for young women to showcase their mastery of the Siva Samoa while embodying the values of grace, humility, and leadership. Inspired by the transformative reign of Moemoana Safa'atoa Schwenke, this title recognizes individuals who serve as cultural ambassadors, preserving the discipline and storytelling of our ancestors for the next generation.
We are proud to honor the remarkable journey of Lemina Wyzayla Sufia Muasau, one of our founding members, students, and a driving force within our organization. Born and raised in the vibrant community of Kalihi, Hawai‘i, Lemina embodies a rich cultural heritage that she shares passionately through her artistry in Polynesian dance. For her, dance is more than performance—it is a powerful medium of storytelling, cultural preservation, and connection to her roots.
Currently serving as Secretary and Las Vegas Chapter Ta‘ita‘i for the academy, Lemina brings both leadership and vision to our programs. Now based in Las Vegas, Nevada, she remains deeply connected to her community and faith as an active member of the EFKS Church of Las Vegas, working closely with the local Samoan community to create spaces that uplift and celebrate their shared heritage.
Lemina’s journey from Honolulu to Las Vegas reflects her resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to cultural empowerment. Through Miss Fetu o Siva, she continues to inspire others—especially young dancers—to embrace their identity and honor the traditions of the Polynesian Islands. With a vision not only to perform but also to teach and lead, Lemina stands as a role model and cultural advocate whose impact will continue to shape future generations.
The Mister Fetu o Siva title is a ground-breaking honor that redefines the standards of Pacific leadership. Born from a vision of true inclusivity, this title shifts the focus away from traditional physical aesthetics to celebrate the heart of a Taule'ale'a Samoa. Director Malaki established this platform to empower young men to lead with pride and cultural integrity, proving that the strength of a leader is found in his character, service, and love for the Fa'aSamoa—regardless of body type.
We proudly honor the remarkable journey of Tauaiga Christian Ali'ioaiga Vargas-Tuilagi Jr—owner of TuiCorps & our inaugural Mister Fetu o Siva.
